United Way of Tuscarawas County, Inc. is an independently-governed 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization located in New Philadelphia, Ohio. Although we are connected to a network of more than 1,400 local United Ways through United Way Worldwide, we have our own board of directors and financially support only health and human service programs serving the Tuscarawas County area.

Sarah Spies
President & CEO
Sarah Spies joined the United Way of Tuscarawas County in June of 2024. Prior to joining the United Way, Sarah served as the Programming and Communications Coordinator for the East Central Ohio Educational Service Center. She is a lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County and currently lives in New Philadelphia. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kent State University and Master of Arts in Higher Education from the University of Michigan. Outside of work, Sarah is involved with the Little Theatre of Tuscarawas County, Tuscarawas Arts Partnership, and the Tuscarawas Philharmonic.
HANNAH HARTMAN
Community Engagement & Events Manager
Hannah Hartman joined the United Way of Tuscarawas County in February of 2025. Prior to joining the United Way, Hannah spent nearly 17 years working in administrative and sales roles for WJER Radio in Dover where she developed a vast network of community connections. Hannah is a 2008 graduate of Kent State University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies. Outside of work, Hannah plays guitar and sings in the band Kodachrome Babies alongside her sister Mallory, and she has volunteered for the Tuscarawas Valley Farmers Market and the Reeves Vintage Style Show for several years. She is a lifelong resident of Tuscarawas County and currently lives in Dover.
